On the way to Jeremy’s house Beth and Cambria went on and on talking about school, plays, dances, and much more. When they got to Jeremy’s house all that could be seen were small trees which lined the edge of his property. His house was simple, refined, and sharp. Out in the front flower garden stood a beautiful sculpture of a horse with a weak delirious woman on his back that stood nice and tall. Jeremy opened the door to his house and led Beth, Jack, and Cambria to their bedrooms and took Matthew to the living area. Mathew was a young boy Beth was taking care of for the week.
The room that Beth and Cambria were staying in was lavender and green. The room had two small beds and a futon. The beds were soft and the view outside the window was beautiful you could see a pond with swans swimming around. A small boat was tied to the dock while fire flies swarmed above the pond. They felt like they were in a dream.
Beth and Cambria kept talking for hours. Then suddenly they heard a loud crash down stairs where Matthew was. Beth and Cambria ran out of the room in their night robes the guys were already at the top of the stairs. Jack was holding a newspaper and Jeremy had an Ipod in hand trying to look brave but ended up being histarical. They started walking down the stairs as they heard Matthew whimper. When the men got down stairs Beth heard the backdoor slam.
She ran down the stairs with Cambria on her heels. Once they got down stairs they saw Matthew sitting on the floor huddled in the corner tears pouring down his face. Beth ran over to Matthew and threw her arms around him. He was stiff at first then laid his head on Beth’s shoulder. Jack, Beth’s brother, walked to Matthew and knelt down.
“Matthew what happened?” Jack asked.
“My Teddy is gone.” Matthew replied.
“Where did he go?” asked Jack with a smile.
“This big white bear came and got him?”
“Oh that is my dog skipper.” said Jeremy. “I am sure I can go find your teddy bear as soon as it is light outside.”
“Do you want to sleep with me and Cambria tonight?” asked Beth.
“YES oh yes!” Chimed Matthew.
Beth and Cambria looked at each other and giggled then returned to their room with little Matthew. Poor little Matthew had such a scare they spent the whole night talking about Spiderman until he went to sleep.
